Knowledge of the rules of any sport is required of each participant and exhibitors at horse shows must adhere to this responsibility. Exhibitors must be fully aware of all rules and class specifications in the division or divisions in which he or she participates.

a) Walk Only
BEGINNERS – class is for riders who are not ready to do any other gait than
normal walk
b) Walk Only Open – to be judged at a Normal Walk, Collected Walk, and an
Extended Walk

Working Western
Division:
a) This division promotes a more natural working type of western horse.
Free-flowing stride, correct gaits, and proper cadence will be emphasized.
Headsets are not to be emphasized; the nose should not be behind the vertical.
Artificial gaits will be penalized. Appearance of intimidation, excessively slow
or unnatural gaits, or depression will be penalized. Examples of unnatural or
artificial gaits are a four beat lope, or walking in the back and trotting in
the front when at the trot. Horses will not be penalized for not being clipped.
Silver shall not count over plain, working tack.
No cross entries are allowed for any horse between divisions designated Western Pleasure Division and Working Western Division.
Working Western Division (Please note: No cross entering horses from the Western Pleasure Division). Crossing over at a show will result in a forfeiture of points.
Working Western Division: Classes 6, 7, 28, 29, 30, 31, 33, 35, 36, 41, 43, 45, 46, 48, 49, 51, 52
Western Pleasure Division: Classes 6, 7, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 34, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 42, 44, 46, 47, 49, 50, 52
